How to Install Car Spoilers

Spoiler is an excellent part of a vehicle which enables it to handle properly as well as maintain an aerodynamic structure. From 1960s the use of spoilers has been growing increasingly till now and it has gained much popularity in the recent years. Establishing a spoiler in the rear portion of the car enhances the down pressure caused by air on the rear tires improving the grip of the car. It’s quite easy to install a spoiler, you might need your friends help to adjust it correctly.

Instructions

1. Wash the rear trunk and clean it because any type of dust or dirt can ruin the mounting process of the spoiler.

2. Mount the spoiler on top of the rear trunk carefully, handle the spoiler with care otherwise you may cause scratches over it. Try to get help from a friend or family member which will make the process easier for you to execute. Positioning of the spoiler should be done accurately otherwise it would become anti aerodynamic.

3. Drill the spoiler to the rear trunk. Keep in mind while drilling is that if you drill bigger hole than it’s not possible to repair that, so always at first start from small drills. This can save you a lot of problems that may occur while drilling for the first time.

4. Always try to position the spoiler and hold it in that position firmly then do the drilling procedure. While drilling keep in mind that the rear trunk may have two layers of sheet metal, you have to drill efficiently to pass through them.

5.
From underneath the trunk you can drill the holes properly to make it even neat. Drilling procedure is the most difficult part to do and should be done by an expert if you don’t have any experience of this kind of work before.

6. When the drilling is finished you are ready to bolt the joints and see your spoiler be established firmly over the rear trunk. But you have to consider the fact that while bolting you should not pressurize or try to tighten it as it may cause the lid surface of the trunk gets damaged.

Tips and Warnings

Protective gloves and masks should be used in order to avoid any kind of health issues.
A protective cloth should be used on top of the trunk lid to minimize any type of spark created by the drilling.

While you are driving you may feel that the spoiler is jerking a bit, if it happens ignore it as its quite normal phenomenon caused by the thin metal sheet.
