Modification of car and customizing with new type of body kits changing the overall appearance to fit one’s personality and style is becoming a popular trend. Body kits have gone through significant changes over the last few years. There are mainly two types of body kits that have gained a lot of popularity, fiberglass and steel. Both of them are equal but in some regards they may differ in capabilities. The decision of using fiberglass or steel is needed for the vehicle to achieve a newer look.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass is a recent invention that has made the creation of body kits easier than before. Although the fiberglass is difficult to bend or alter, it is being used widely for being cheap and affordable. There was a time when customizing a car worth a fortune but now with the advancement of technology and blessing of fiberglass, modification of cars have now become affordable and quite easy to do. Fiberglass needs minimal requirements to form the shape of required body kits and this makes the fiberglass an easy material to use. It’s also strong in regards of pressure but if high pressure is implemented it may break into pieces. The best thing about Fiberglass is that it can be repaired within a very cheap price and regained the shape easily.

Steel

Steel is a hard and strong material that costs much but ensures that it cannot be damaged under a lot of pressure. Moreover you will be able to get the vintage type look that all crave for in regards of vehicle. There are lack of steel bodies now in the market and one of the biggest lacks of steel is that whenever it gets damaged you will need to work on the whole body kit. Rusting is also a problem face with steel body kits and it also makes the car quite heavy as well as lowers its performance standards.

Identification

Steel and fiberglass both are quite nice kits to be using for body kit purposes but and a latest hybrid kit is being used that has mixture of both materials. But Fiberglass is more cost effective and easy to use rather than steel kits. If one is not able to find any kind of steel kit for a certain part of the car, then one can easily use the magnificent fiberglass material which will not only help in upgrading car performance but also keep the car lightweight.
